Last friday we, meaning the class, went to the nearest Natural History museum to draw stuffed animals.
This is what I made, and I’d like to point out that I did not invent the twoheaded calve, it was like that when I got there.

The assignment was “Soccer is war” wich is a quote attributed to Rinus Michels, a dutch soccer player. He probably said something LIKE Soccer is war, and it got “Play-it-again-Sam”‘ed in time.
So anyway, here are the drawings I made for it.
I mostly used a Pentel Brushpen, and a Pentel Correctionpen (White-out pen)
I went to school and all I got.. (0)

So here are the first three of pieces I did I like so much that I’ve decided to end my 3 month hiatus on updating this blog and start.. actually updating.
I did this in school, where the assignment was pretty straightforward. There is a model posing, repaint the poses on your paper.
The problem was, though, my overreliance on lines, wich wasn’t the assignment where we should’ve been focusing on form.

Apparantly scanning 10 images in at 600dpi will take up about half of your day - who knew?
So here are 10 images I’ve made and not coloured yet. I’d like to show them to you when they’re finished, but since I’ve not updated here in over 2 weeks already, I’ll show you the works in progress. Also now that they’re scanned, I can actually colour them somewhere in the next week, so there’s that.
Yeah, so anyway, I decide to keep the sketches all here, because I like how that gives it kind of a texture, and it gives you, the reader, a small peak into my working habits of inks, pencils and white paint.
Click the thumbnails for biggers.
So that’s all of them. I’ll be working on the colors of all of these in the next weeks.

Hey!
I’m a 21 year-old aspiring illustrator from the Netherlands. I’ve gotten into the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, and this blog will keep up with the stuff I’ve learned in Rotterdam, as well as the things I learn myself.
The Portfolio contains my recent work and finished projects, and can be found here.
